HILLCREST/WOODLAND AVE

 

FALL BLOCK PARTY!

Join us for our first fall block party! We’ll be holding a chili/soup cookoff, AND a pumpkin carving contest, as well as have food trucks on hand from Famous Franks, People’s Brewery, Marquis De Corn Popcorn, and Snowbiz snow cones and ice cream! 

Soup/Chili cook off – please sign up via this sign up genius link if you’d like to participate by entering your soup/chili/stew. Cost will be $5 for anyone who wants to taste/vote at the party. Cash prize for the winner! All proceeds will go to the Hills and Dales Neighbors group for future events.

Pumpkin carving contest – anyone may enter! Please bring your pumpkin carved by 4pm the day of. Anyone may cast their vote and there will be cash prizes for top 3 pumpkins. Get as creative as you would like!

We plan to play a movie via projector/screen starting at 5pm for the kids/teens. Bring chairs or blankets!

Neighborhood Cornhole Tournament

Come out to our neighborhood cornhole tournament! All neighbors are welcome, however if you plan to participate in the cornhole tourney, please sign up via the link here.

The entry fee per team will be $20 and the tournament will begin at 5:30pm. Even if you don’t plan to play, bring a chair and come grab food truck dinner or an ice cream truck treat! Coney dog and ice cream trucks will be on hand for purchase. We also hope to have a Pickleball court set up, and possibly wrist bands again for the adults!

Neighborhood Garage Sale

Please mark your calendars for Friday 8/9 and Saturday 8/10 if you’d like to participate in the neighborhood garage sale. We plan to make this an annual event the second weekend of August so that those interested can plan accordingly. If you plan to sell, please email Ronda Schwab at rondawalshschwab@gmail.com and include your name, address, and the days you are participating. She will help with advertising.
 
We plan to put a few signs outside the neighborhood but you may want to add your own signs with your address to help guide any buyers in the right direction.

Wednesday, May 22nd, 4pm – 7pm

 

End of School Block Party!

The block party is back! Plan to join us again for a neighborhood block party on the last day of West Lafayette schools. The event will begin at 4pm on the dead end portion of Woodland Avenue on May 22nd. There will be food trucks for purchase from Famous Franks and Rolling in Dough, as well as Kona Ice and cotton candy. These vendors accept payment via bank or credit card. 

The Boilermaker Special will be available for a limited time for short rides beginning at 5pm, please find the sign up sheet for this when you arrive. Kids can also play games, jump in the bounce house, and get their faces painted! No need to bring a camping chair this year unless you’d like to, as there will be tables and chairs set up around the event. Please feel free to bring a beverage of your choice. 

Your dues enable us to put on events like the block parties, which help to bring us all together as a neighborhood and community. If you haven’t yet had a chance to contribute your voluntary dues this year, we’ll have an information table at the block party. Stop by and scan our Venmo or drop off your $30.
